Great British Menu 2021 chef Kim Ratcharoen is the new head chef at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, returning to the restaurant after taking some time of the kitchen

Kim studied economics at Sussex university, but returned to college to study hospitality. After working for Michael Bremner at 64 degrees, in 2015, she joined Restaurant Gordon Ramsay for a stage, then was taken on an apprentice, working her way up the ranks under chef patron Matt Abé.

She was a senior sous-chef at Gordon Ramsay's three Michelin-starred Gordon Ramsay restaurant London when she competed on Great British Menu in 2021, narrowly missing out on a spot at the banquet.

After filming the series, Kim took some time out of the kitchen to spend with her family and friends, hosting private dinners and visiting fine dining restaurants around the UK before making the decision to return to Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay's Chef patron Matt Abé said he was "so proud" to see the chef returning as his head chef, adding: "I am excited to see what the future holds, watch this space."

Gordon Ramsay said: “I’m so happy to have Kim back at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, she is an incredible chef who is ambitious and hugely talented.  She brings a wonderful focus and energy into the kitchen, and we are lucky to have her leading the brigade under the powerful guidance of chef patron, Matt Abé, at our beautiful Chelsea restaurant.”

Kim added: “I’m delighted to return to Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.  I feel honoured and humbled that Gordon and Matt have shown so much trust in me and I’m truly excited to take on the role as head chef.”

This week, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay celebrated 21 years since it first earned three Michelin stars, three years after it first opened in 1998.
