The Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland has revealed seven new restaurant entries today, August 25th 2021, and will be updating it monthly in a bid to shine a light on restaurants despite the upheaval caused by the pandemic.

After delaying last year's star announcement from October to January 2021, when it also switched to a fully-digital version of the guide, Michelin is introducing monthly additions ahead of the annual live event in order to shine a light on restaurants.

Released every last Wednesday of the month, fresh entries will be highlighted with a "New" symbol, according to a statement published by the guide last night, "for easy identification," and restaurants will receive coverage in long-form articles published monthly. Additions will be made to the guide every Wednesday.

The revelation of stars, Bib Gourmands, and Green Stars will remain an annual process, and the company has yet to reveal when it will hold its much-awaited awards ceremony for 2022, and whether it will be hosted in person, or, as it was for the 2021 guide, online.

Commenting on the decision, the guide's international director, Gwendal Poullennec, said: “By revealing some of the new additions made by our inspectors throughout the year, we further strengthen the ties that bind us to food lovers.”

“Moreover, in a period that is still very complicated and in which the restaurant industry continues to face unprecedented challenges and uncertainties,” Poullennec added “we hope that these regular revelations and updates will provide opportunities to highlight the profession, and we invite everyone to discover and support the restaurants around them.”

For the month of August, the following seven restaurants were given a new mention in the guide:
